🚨 As a reminder:

  • The Division III compliance webinar is at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time March 11, where staff will apply the current sports wagering legislation to different scenarios.

  • Register for the Community Connects virtual program, set for 1 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, March 5.

    • Designed for leaders advancing belonging and well-being in athletic departments and conference offices, this session will feature proven assessment strategies and ways to align efforts with student success outcomes.

🗓 Division III Program Deadlines Approaching — 5 p.m. Eastern time March 13

CSC Student Program

  • Held June 7-9 alongside the College Sports Communicators Convention, this funded Division III program offers students hands-on experience, networking opportunities and a pathway into athletics communication.

Institute for Administrative Advancement

  • Held June 5-7 in conjunction with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) convention, participants will learn about themselves as administrators, gaining skills and tools to grow in their current roles.

🎓 Seeking Recently Graduated DIII Student-Athlete for NCAA Board of Governors

  • Division III is seeking one former student-athlete (graduated within the past four years) to serve on the Board of Governors beginning this fall.

    • Two-year term (renewable once).

    • Must have SAAC experience (campus, conference, or national).

    • Preference for at least two years of National SAAC experience.

What's next: Encourage eligible graduates to apply by 5 p.m. Eastern time March 13.

📚 Submit Proposals for the 2027 Division III Convention Education Sessions

  • The Division III Convention Planning Subcommittee is seeking proposals for Division III–specific education sessions, giving members the opportunity to design and lead programming for the 2027 NCAA Convention.

  • Submit Proposals by 5 p.m. Eastern time March 27.

📊 Division III Analysis and Working Group

What: This analysis aims to ensure Division III continues to operate efficiently and effectively to meet the evolving needs of student-athletes and member schools/conferences.

How: The working group will gather research and data, engage the membership and governance structure, and develop policy or legislative recommendations as appropriate.

Next Steps: The Presidents Council Futures Subcommittee reviewed the proposed working group roster, and now the full council is reviewing and will approve electronically.

🗓 Save the Date: Division III Week is April 6-12

What: Division III Week is an opportunity to observe and celebrate the impact of Division III athletics and of student-athletes on campuses and the surrounding community.  

Get involved:

  • Every Division III member is encouraged to conduct an outreach activity in academic accomplishment, athletic experience or leadership/community service/campus involvement.  

✏️ 2026 NCAA Regional Rules Seminar

  • When: May 13–15 in Atlanta.

  • Note: At least once every three years, an active member school must be represented at the NCAA Regional Rules Seminar — Via in-person attendence or an NCAA-provided live stream.

✏️ Rule of the Month — Sports Camps and Clinics.

As you plan for the upcoming summer camp season, remember Bylaw 13.11.3.2. School coaches and other staff members can host or conduct camps and clinics involving prospective student-athletes, provided the following conditions are met:

  • The events must be open to the general public.

  • The events do not offer free or reduced admission to prospective student-athletes.

  • Any awards or mementos given to attendees are included in the admissions fees.

➡️ Note that no athletics staff member may be employed (salaried or volunteer) in any capacity if the events are established, sponsored or conducted by a recruiting and scouting service.

🎓NCAA Graduation Data Collection Now Open!

  • Due to construction in Compliance Assistant 2.0, data will be entered in the Academic Portal. Please reach out to your school’s NCAA application administrator to get access to the application.

📈 Sports Sponsorship Data Collection Now Open! 

  • The 2025-26 sports sponsorship data collection process will open April 1. Completed sports sponsorship data is due by June 30.

  • Contest and participation data is used to ensure Division III minimum requirements are met. All schools have an obligation to submit accurate data to assist in upholding the integrity of the NCAA. Contact Sadie Martinezwith any questions.

💚 2026 NCAA DISC Program relaunch

  • What they're saying: The relaunch of the NCAA DISC Program helps student-athletes, coaches and administrators understand their behavioral styles, use a common language to relate to others and strengthen relationships in team, workplace and athletics settings.

  • What’s next: Workshops and accompanying assessments are now available on a rolling basis for all NCAA-sponsored sports and divisions.

🩺 Division III Health and Safety Survey

  • What: The Division III health and safety survey was sent to all athletics health care administrators.

  • By the numbers: In total, 211 schools completed the survey. The data from this year’s survey will be incorporated into the NCAA Division III Institutional Performance Program this summer.

Reminder: Catastrophic Injury Reporting 

NCAA legislation requires member schools to report annually on all student-athlete fatalities, near fatalities and catastrophic injuries.

  • Schools must report a catastrophic event that occurred during this annual cycle and must report retroactively any catastrophic event that has occurred since the legislation became effective Aug. 1, 2014, if that event has not been reported.

  • Join us in celebrating the 15th anniversary of the partnership between Division III and Special Olympics on Tuesday, April 7, during Division III Week.

  • What: This two-day campaign strives to connect student-athletes in the intercollegiate athletics community to showcase their voices on belonging, connection and community.
