Requesting Final Amateurism Certification

Available Now for Fall 2025 Enrollees

As of April 1, students initially enrolling in the fall 2025 semester became eligible to request their final amateurism certification via their Eligibility Center account. Before making this request, fall 2025 enrollees must select the NCAA enrollment period that reflects initial full-time enrollment at their first NCAA Division I, II or III school.
Currently, over 130,000 eligible student-athletes have yet to request their final amateurism. How many are your recruits?

Please continue using the “Open Tasks Report – Action Required” report to identify accounts with the “Incomplete Sports Participation Response” task to determine if the student needs to update their sports participation questionnaire before requesting final amateurism certification. After making the request, make sure your students promptly respond to newly assigned tasks, including requests for academic records to assign graduation dates.

Service Standard Information

Beginning May 1, certification accounts with the fall 2025 and winter/spring 2026 enrollment periods (or older) will be reviewed within the 10-business day service standard once the account is ready to process and the account is activated, whichever occurs last. Accounts with the fall 2026 enrollment period (and beyond) will still be reviewed under the 20 business-day service standard once activated and ready to process.

Please note: As of May 1, the 2024-25 IRL cycle is no longer available for activation and the EC will discontinue processing accounts activated to this cycle. If you have students that still need academic or amateurism reviews, please activate those accounts to the 2025-26 cycle immediately.

Secondary Contact for Eligibility Center Accounts

Policy Changes Coming May 1

Effective for all communication received on or after May 1, NCAA Eligibility Center staff can only communicate student-specific information to email addresses listed as either the primary or secondary contact in a college-bound student-athlete’s NCAA Eligibility Center account.

The secondary contact field allows registered students to add the name and email of a second contact (such as a recruiting agent or second adult advocate) with whom the Eligibility Center can discuss their account.

Membership Portal: PSA Detail Report Enhanced

In response to feedback provided in the 2024-25 Membership Survey, the Eligibility Center has implemented enhancements to the "PSA Detail Report" within the Membership Portal. This report now includes clearer, more transparent information in the "Academic Eligibility Descriptions" section.

New Resource Available

Complementing this update is a new resource. Rectifying Deficiencies After Graduation was designed to help you review final academic certifications and navigate postgraduation academic advising for students who have not met competition standards.

Thank you to everyone who completed this year’s survey! Your input continues to guide the Eligibility Center’s focus of continuous improvement to better meet the needs of our members.

Graduation Timeline Confirmation Form

The “Additional Academic Documents Needed for Amateurism Certification” task signals the possible need to process the student under the delayed enrollment legislation. The task is commonly (but not exclusively) assigned to international students educated in countries with tiered education (ex., Scotland, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Caribbean countries) after the submission of an initial form of acceptable proof of graduation.

When the student has not or will not earn an additional form of acceptable proof of graduation (such as a “Tier Two” or “Tier Three” credential listed in the Guide to International Academic Standards for Athletics Eligibility), the student should fill out and submit “Section A” of the Graduation Timeline Confirmation Form linked within the task. The information provided should include a reference to the final acceptable graduation credential the student earned. Submission of this form generally finalizes the graduation date required by the Eligibility Center during the student’s certification review.

Submitting International Inquiries

To assist with workflow management during this busy time of year, the Eligibility Center will temporarily manage all international inquiries by email. Please submit questions to ec-international@ncaa.org and include your name and the PSA's NCAA ID and name. If additional information is needed, a member of our staff will reach out to you directly.

Send them to ecupdate@ncaa.org.

Eligibility Center Meets with Membership During Final Four Championship Week

As part of the Final Four activities in Tampa and San Antonio earlier this month, the Eligibility Center team had the opportunity to engage with member schools in the areas. Our Tampa team spent time with the University of Central Florida, with a great visit to the famous Bounce House! Later in the week, our San Antonia team caught up with former Eligibility Center intern Noah Goldberg at the University of Texas—Austin. Our thanks to both schools and their staffs for opening their doors to our teams. It's always a privilege to meet our members and see firsthand the impactful work they are doing with and for student-athletes. We can't wait to do the same at local member schools in Indianapolis and Phoenix during the 2026 Final Four championship week!
