International Guide Updated for 2023-24

The Guide to International Academic Standards for Athletics Eligibility has been updated for the 2023-24 academic year and includes changes to these countries' information:

Alberta—Proof of graduation updated and course designation added.
Australia (Australian Capital Territory)—Grading scale updated.
Finland—New proof of graduation added.
France—New approved science course added.
Norway—New not-acceptable proof of graduation added.
Sweden—New not-acceptable proof of graduation added.

If you have a version of the guide downloaded to your computer locally, please be sure to download this updated version and replace.

Requesting Final Amateurism

Requesting final amateurism certification opened on October 1 for all student-athletes enrolling for the first time at an NCAA Division I or II school and international students enrolling for the first time at a Division III school in winter/spring 2024. Before a student-athlete can request their final amateurism certification, any registration fee issues must be resolved. NCAA Sports Wagering Education

New Module Provides Direction for Student-Athletes

Earlier this month, the NCAA launched its first sports wagering e-learning module designed to further educate more than 500,000 current and college-bound student-athletes on problem gambling’s harms and the risks sports wagering poses to the integrity of their games. Following feedback from student-athletes and campus leaders, the NCAA engaged former college athletes, including an NFL player, to better connect with current student-athletes.

The module is a free, interactive tool with helpful information, scenarios, Q&As and resources—all delivered by former student-athletes, for student-athletes. Every student-athlete registered with the Eligibility Center will be tasked to complete this module via their Eligibility Center account. Please take the time to watch this important video.

Task Resource Page

The Eligibility Center communicates information missing within a student’s Eligibility Center certification account by assigning a task to the account. (Profile Page accounts do not receive tasks.) In addition to adding to the student’s Tasks list in their account, an email outlining the task and what’s required to close the task is sent to the email listed in the account. Student-athletes should review their task list often to prevent delays in their certification.

If a student has been assigned a task in their account, the information here may help you better understand what we need to complete the assigned task. If you have additional questions, international students can contact the Eligibility Center via the International Contact Form.

Document Submission Reminder

When available, official academic records should be submitted to the Eligibility Center via the school/issuing body. In the event that official records are not available, please see the COVID-19 FAQ for guidance on how students can submit academic records directly to the EC. Starting May 1, 2024, official academic records will be required and must be submitted via an approved channel for domestic or international students. As a reminder, student-provided documents must be sent from the email address used in the student's EC account. Emails should be sent to ec-processing@ncaa.org, and must include the student's NCAA ID in the email's subject line.
