Recent Governance Meetings - Key Discussions and Outcomes.

There were no recent meetings.

Upcoming Meetings and Anticipated Discussions.

Administrative Committee Meeting, May 15
Federated rules process.  The committee will review and potentially approve a Division III federated playing rules process, which is now allowed with the adoption of the new NCAA Constitution (Jan. 2022).

Athletic Trainer Working Group.  The committee will review the nominations received from the membership and select the members of the newly created Division III Athletic Trainer Working Group.

Financial and Risk Management Working Group, May 15
Inaugural meeting.  The working group will review its charge, composition, and timeline.  It will discuss next steps as it reviews the division’s budget and strategic priorities and identifies the best methods to examine threats, risks, and opportunities for the division.

Championships Committee, May 16
Selection criteria database.  The committee will review its timeline to educate and solicit feedback from sport committees and affiliate groups (e.g., NADIIIAA and DIIICA) on a new selection criteria database (e.g., Pairwise).  The anticipated implementation of the selection criteria database is no sooner than the 2024-25 academic year.

Sport committee reports.  The committee will review the fall championship sport committee reports and act, as needed.

Rowing committee.  The committee will discuss a request from the Division III Nominating Committee to reduce the size of the Division III rowing committee from six to four.  The reduction would eliminate the two at-large positions while maintaining a representative for each of the four sport regions.

Membership Committee Meeting, May 25
Sport sponsorship minimum participants in tennis. The Management Council referred the legislative concept to amend the minimum participant requirements for the sport of tennis from six to four to the Membership Committee for review before approving the final legislative draft during its July meeting.
