April Recruit Reminders
Requesting Final AmateurismHelp your recruits be ready to play! For prospective student-athletes initially enrolling in the fall 2022 term, remind them they became eligible to request final amateurism certification on April 1. Please keep in mind that accounts with pending fee waiver requests (identified by using the Fee Issue filter in the Search Criteria section in the Search Student Details section) must be approved by the high school before final amateurism certification can be requested.

|
|
Recruits must also select their appropriate enrollment period, especially important for transferring students or those who may have delayed their enrollment. Before requesting their final amateurism, students should also review and update their Sports Participation questionnaire responses (if necessary). Accounts with a pending review status may have open tasks that need to be completed before the account can be pulled for review, so please be sure to check the task list for any outstanding amateurism-related tasks that need to be completed.
PSA Multifactor Authentication
Starting Wednesday, April 27, PSAs will be required to use multifactor authentication to log in to their NCAA Eligibility Center accounts. (This is the same process NCAA member schools now use to log in to My Apps.) Details regarding the launch of multifactor authentication will be sent to recruits in the coming days. Should you have a student-athlete needing assistance with the MFA process, please refer them to the Eligibility Center at 877-262-1492.
Service Standard Change/IRL Management |

New Academic Certification Service StandardsTo accommodate the growing volume of certifications, the Eligibility Center is implementing a new academic certification service standard that aligns with the student’s enrollment period. Beginning May 1, Certification accounts with fall 2022, winter/spring 2023 or older (e.g., fall 2021) enrollment periods will be reviewed under a 10-business day service standard once the account reaches Ready to Process status. (RTP occurs when all transcripts are received.) |
|
|
|
Accounts with any future enrollment period (e.g., fall 2023 and beyond) will be reviewed under a 20-business day service standard once they reach an RTP status. May 1 will now become the annual transition date for when the upcoming fall and winter/spring enrollment periods are added to the 10-business day service standard inventory.
-
As a reminder, urgent academic certification requests may be entered for accounts with any RTP status. Once requested, Eligibility Center staff will begin reviewing the account within one business day and the account will retain the urgent priority until completion. If an account cannot reach RTP status and an urgent review is needed, please contact our Customer Service team.
IRL Management-Cycle ReminderIn addition to being the new academic service standard switchover date, May 1 is also the date when IRL cycles available for activation and certification processing will change. On May 1, the 2022-23 cycle becomes the current and default cycle in the Membership Portal, and older cycles (including the 2021-22 cycle) can no longer be activated. Academic and amateurism certifications for students on your 2021-22 IRL will no longer be pulled for review unless the account was “in process” or “under review” prior to this date. If you have students who still need academic or amateurism reviews, please activate those accounts to the 2022-23 cycle. Have questions about the IRL activation process? Contact Customer Service at 877-544-2950 or at ecinfo@ncaa.org. |

Diploma Dashboard Update The NCAA Division I and Division II Diploma Dashboards, which are updated on an annual basis, are now available with data from the 2019-20 academic year. The data, which compare undergraduate degrees earned by college athletes with those of the general student body, can be sorted by gender, race/ethnicity, sport and year.
These interactive dashboards are popular among our member schools, researchers and the general public, providing transparency in the majors student-athletes choose and supporting discussions around the topic. Over the past 10 years, degrees awarded to student-athletes have followed trends similar to those of the general student body.
Visit the dashboards for more detail on specific majors earned, trends and further breakdowns. |
