New! Free High School Counselor Course

A High School Counselor’s Tutorial to the NCAA Eligibility Center

The Eligibility Center designed a free interactive course just for you! This six-module course will help you better understand best practices for initial-eligibility processes including tasks that you may complete when assisting students as they prepare to compete in NCAA sports.

Note: This course may be used for continuing education credits depending on your state's requirements. All registrants who complete the course will receive a digital certificate.

Reminder: Review Student Reports

Log in to the High School Portal and review your high school's Student Reports to make sure senior student-athletes with Eligibility Center accounts are enrolled in NCAA-approved core courses that will allow them to meet initial-eligibility requirements. Please also review previously completed coursework and submit updates to your high school’s core-course list as necessary.
A preliminary academic certification occurs in a student's certification account when the student is on an institutional request list and transcripts from each high school are received.

Current seniors who have had a preliminary academic certification attempted will be assigned a Preliminary Academic Decision Available task, which provides a summary of requirements still needed to meet NCAA final academic qualifier status. This task, along with the student’s preliminary certification breakdown, may be found in the student’s Eligibility Center account.

For students who have not yet had their preliminary academic certification attempted, please ensure their six-semester transcripts have been submitted, and encourage them to send their NCAA ID to the NCAA coaches recruiting them. You may also use the Division I and II Worksheets to monitor a student’s academic progress.
