NCAA Pathway Program

Congratulations to Sarah Dehring (Alma College), Kevin Fenstermacher (Presidents’ Athletic Conference), Miriam Merrill (Hamilton College), Ashley Reid (College of Wooster), and Michael Schulist (Carroll University) for being accepted into the NCAA Pathway Program. The year-long program’s goal is to prepare the participants to excel as athletics directors and commissioners.

Inside Perspective

We asked Sarah Dehring, the interim athletics director at Alma College, a few questions.
What advice would you give to SWAs to be more involved on their campus?  Collaboration is the key to a successful athletics department. Reach out to an individual across campus and schedule a lunch, coffee, or a short one-on-one meeting.
You are currently in the NCAA Pathway Program. What benefits have you gained from this program?  Resources, courage, confidence, empowerment.  The list goes on and on.  I have learned that it is ok to not know all the answers, and I will make mistakes.   I also have learned to be vulnerable, be true to myself, and  know that I am ready to be an athletics director.
