New Electronic Matriculation Letter

Online Form Minimizes Paperwork, Streamlines Process

In response to membership feedback, the EC has streamlined the matriculation letter submission process in two significant ways: 1) Matriculation letters may now be submitted by any staff member listed on a member school’s EC Contact List, provided they attest to the accuracy of the information provided; and 2) compared to the interactive PDF historically available, the new online form links directly to student accounts, providing greater processing efficiency in both Indianapolis and on campus.

To access the new online matriculation letter, log in to the Membership Portal and click on the Resources tab. The Matriculation Form link is located in the Eligibility Center Forms section of the right-hand column. You can also access the electronic matriculation form by hovering over the Resources tab and selecting “Matriculation Form” from the available dropdown.

Please note: The Eligibility Center will continue to accept matriculation letters using the old PDF form uploaded via the Membership Portal until further notice. However, best practice is to utilize the new electronic version.

Enrollment Periods and IRL Reminders

Starting October 1, students initially enrolling in the winter/spring 2024 term can request final amateurism certification in their Eligibility Center account. Before making this request, students must verify their graduation and enrollment dates are accurate and make relevant updates to their sports participation questionnaire. As a reminder, students who have not submitted payment should submit their registration fee or indicate they’re eligible for a fee waiver and have their fee waiver eligibility approved by their high school contact. To ensure your recruit’s final amateurism certification request is processed in a timely manner, please encourage students to review and respond to any newly assigned task in their EC account. Please continue to manage your activations and deactivate students from your IRL’s if they are no longer being recruited by your school.

Webinar for Prospective Student-Athletes

September 17, 5-6 p.m. Eastern time
Are your recruits ready to play at the NCAA level? Avoid certification issues by encouraging your recruits to invest in their future and spend an hour with the NCAA Eligibility Center staff on Sunday, September 17.
During this engaging webinar, our staff will explain NCAA requirements, how to prepare for certification, and what they need to do to compete at the NCAA Division I, II or III level. Please share this registration link with your recruits and help ensure they have every opportunity to compete once on your campus.

Nontraditional Program Guidance

Nontraditional program reviews are resuming for coursework completed on or after September 1, 2023. Due to COVID-19, the NCAA Eligibility Center did not require a separate review for distance, e-learning or hybrid programs offered by schools with NCAA-approved core courses in spring 2020 through the 2022-23 academic year. If your student attends a school that has used a non-reviewed nontraditional program or intends to use one for this upcoming academic year, please make sure the school administrators contact the Eligibility Center’s dedicated high school administrator line at 877-622-2321 for guidance regarding the review process.

Updated Resource Alert: DI and II Academic Resources

The 2023-24 versions of the Division I and II academic requirements flyers are now available! These resources are great for your recruits who are trying to compete at these levels. Please share these informative resources with prospective student-athletes to help ensure they are prepared to meet academic requirements.

Member Attestations Due November 3

Attestations are now open for all member schools to complete. Division I schools have three attestations: compliance; diversity, equity and inclusion review; and campus sexual violence. Schools in Divisions II and III need to complete campus sexual violence. All attestations are due Nov. 3.

As a reminder to all member schools, the campus sexual violence attestation requires members to attest they complied with the policy for the 2022-23 academic year.

For administrators to complete the attestations, they need their school's NCAA MyApps administrators to assign the courses to them in the NCAA Learning Portal. Instructions and other information on the attestation process can be found on the attestation page on ncaa.org. Questions about the attestation process can be sent to webhelpdesk@ncaa.org.
