New Task: Final Amateurism Certifications

To provide greater clarity on where student-athletes are regarding the Eligibility Center’s amateurism requirements, a new task has been added for student accounts. This new division-specific task, titled “Final Amateurism Decision Available,” will be assigned to a student’s account after an amateurism decision has been made. Amateurism certifications are typically attempted using the information the student-athlete provided in their Eligibility Center certification account once a student is activated to (listed on) an NCAA Division I, II or III school's institutional request list.

The task information includes details on the decision, providing student-athletes with clear guidance on their current status. Click here for a sample of this task. Students are encouraged to share this information with their family and recruiting member school. Thank you to our member and high school advisory groups for their input on this new task.

Attestations Due Nov. 1

The 2023-24 attestation period officially opened Sept. 3. Members will have until Nov. 1 to attest to whether or not they met membership requirements during the 2023-24 academic year.

In response to membership feedback, we have introduced a new Docusign option to ensure an efficient process. Select positions on campus and in conference offices received an email from the national office outlining details of this new signatory process.

This year’s process does not involve the NCAA Learning Portal. The new Docusign process is now streamlined, which now takes just two minutes to complete.

The following positions within the membership (which are tied to the three active attestations: policy on campus sexual violence; compliance; and diversity, equity and inclusion review) have received an email from NCAA attestation via Docusign:

  • President/chancellor.
  • Director of athletics.
  • Campus Title IX coordinator.
  • Senior compliance administrator.
  • Conference commissioner.
  • Conference senior compliance administrator.
  • Conference athletics diversity and inclusion designee.

These positions were emailed based on the contact information within the NCAA's membership directory.

  • If you are one of the positions above and did not receive the email, please check your junk/spam folder.
If you have a new hire and need to update the membership directory, or have any general questions about the new process, please email webhelpdesk@ncaa.org.

Enrollment Periods and IRL Reminders

Starting Oct. 1, students initially enrolling in the winter/spring 2025 term can request final amateurism certification in their Eligibility Center account. Before making this request, students must verify their graduation and enrollment dates are accurate and make relevant updates to their sports participation questionnaire. As a reminder, students who have not submitted payment should submit their registration fee or indicate they’re eligible for a fee waiver and have their fee waiver eligibility approved by their high school contact.

To ensure your recruit’s final amateurism certification request is processed in a timely manner, please encourage students to review and respond to any newly assigned task in their EC account. Please continue to manage your activations and deactivate students from your IRLs if they are no longer being recruited by your school.
