LGBTQ of the Year
The NCAA Division III LGBTQ of the Year Awards Selection Committee announced its 2022 final nominees for the LGBTQ of the Year awards, in three categories. The award recipients will be announced in conjunction with the 2023 NCAA Convention in San Antonio on Friday, Jan. 13. To view the full list of final nominees, click here.
Gameday the DIII Way
Gameday the DIII Way in-person trainings are available and help create a respectful and engaging environment through athletics, for everyone. Check out the Division III Sportsmanship webpage to request a training or access resources.
NCAA Woman of the Year
NCAA member schools nominated a total of 577 graduating student-athletes for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year award. From that pool of 577 nominees, 202 were Division III student-athletes.
Title IX at 50
On June 23, Title IX celebrated 50 years. Click here for the State of Women in College in Sports Report and use the recommendations in the Title IX 50th Anniversary Membership Tool Kit to get your celebration started and to find more opportunities to engage throughout the year.
This year, the NCAA hired an external firm to conduct a real-time assessment of the Association’s gender equity efforts, specifically for the Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships. Click here for the assessment outcome. The findings highlight significant progress against the equity review recommendations made in less than one year. The national office remains committed to supporting NCAA members as we strive collectively for long-term advancement of gender equity to benefit all college athletes.

We asked Kendall Elder, director for student-athlete success at St. Joseph (CT), a few questions.
What was most impactful about attending the Division III Institute for Administrative Advancement? This program was impactful from start to finish because it was a program that was intentional about making changes in college athletics.
As the director for student-athlete success, what advice do you give student-athletes? The advice I give is quite simple - take it all in slowly.
What is your Division III elevator speech? DIII athletics is the best place to be for student-athletes who truly want to get a degree and compete at a high level athletically.
