Requesting Final Amateurism Certification
A Critical Step for Your Recruits! |
|
| As of April 1, international DIII students initially enrolling in the fall 2024 semester became eligible to request their final amateurism certification via their Eligibility Center account. Before making this request, fall 2024 enrollees must select the NCAA enrollment period that reflects initial full-time enrollment at their first NCAA Division I, II, or III school. |
|
|
|
|
Currently, over 128,000 eligible student-athletes have yet to request their final amateurism. How many are your recruits?
Please continue using the “Open Tasks Report – Action Required” report to identify accounts with the “Incomplete Sports Participation Response” task to determine if the student needs to update their sports participation questionnaire before requesting final amateurism certification. After making the request, make sure your students promptly respond to newly assigned tasks, including requests for academic records to assign graduation dates. |

Checking Recruit Certification StatusDo you know how to check your international student-athlete’s amateurism certification status? Follow the steps below to check your student’s certification decision.
-
In the Membership Portal, click on Reports, then select Search Student Details.
-
Search for the student-athlete using their NCAA ID, first/last name or sport. Be sure you are searching with the correct recruitment cycle!
-
Once you’ve found the student-athlete, check the box next to their NCAA ID then choose Get PSA Details, located at the bottom of the screen.
-
Next, click on the student-athlete’s name (highlighted in light blue) and review the Amateurism Information section.
-
If your student-athlete does not have a final amateurism certification decision, scroll down to the Student Tasks section to review what information is still needed to complete the account.

Service Standard InformationAs of May 1, the 2023-24 IRL cycle is no longer available for activation and the EC will discontinue processing accounts activated to this cycle. If you have students that still need amateurism reviews, please activate those accounts to the 2024-25 cycle immediately. Accounts with the fall 2025 enrollment period (and beyond) will still be reviewed under the 20 business-day service standard once activated and ready to process. |

Submission of Academic Documents COVID Policy Ends April 30As a reminder, official academic records may be required for amateurism certifications. During COVID, relief was provided that, if only unofficial records were available for students who initially enroll full time in the 2023-24 academic year, they may be submitted to ec-processing@ncaa.org directly from the email address associated with the student’s EC account (including the student’s NCAA ID in the subject line). However, as of May 1, 2024, any official academic records required must be submitted via an approved channel for international students (or domestic with international sports participation). |

Non-English Resources AvailableThe Eligibility Center has translated some of our most popular resources into French, German, Portuguese and Spanish. To see those translated resources, click here. Please be sure to share these translated items with any student-athletes who may have non-English speaking family or advocates, to better help those individuals support each student-athlete's dream. Our staff will continue to evaluate additional resources for potential translation. |

Task List Reminders
Understanding the Student's Role and the Importance of Tasks |
|
| A “task” is a communication assigned by Eligibility Center staff via your recruit's Eligibility Center account, as shown here. The information may include actionable items (such as informing a student that sports participation information, academic documents or enrollment verification is needed, etc.) or could be communicating information regarding health and safety, sleep habits, or other general information that can help prepare them for success on campus. |
|
|
|
Encourage your recruits to review their list of tasks by clicking on the Tasks icon, located in the header after logging in to their account at eligibilitycenter.org. Share this FAQ question with students to help them understand the importance of tasks in their account and avoid delays in their certification process. |
