Welcome Back!
A Letter from Mike Massa, NCAA EC Managing Director of External Affairs |
Hello, High School Community!
Whether you have been at this for a number of years or maybe just getting started, the beginning of a new school year is always energizing with new possibilities and opportunities, but yeesh, is it busy 😊. We know that is especially true this year with all of the moving parts in college and high school athletics generally layered on top of the tasks to complete, incoming questions, educational sessions, and other responsibilities you are managing on behalf of your school or district. |
To that end, know that our team is available to help with student-specific or more policy-level questions as needed (via our high school support line 877-622-2321). We are also continually looking for ways to deliver more proactive support and opportunities to make system-wide improvements to help make working with us easier. Our suggestion box is always open to share ideas during your phone calls or within our annual survey. You are well represented by your peers on our High School Advisory Group, so feel free to reach out to them to talk through ideas, brainstorm suggestions or share feedback.
On behalf of Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Stan Wilcox and the entire Eligibility Center staff, we hope you have a great year on campus and look forward to our continued partnership as we serve our student-athletes. Thanks for all you do! |

1. Advise Students to Register.
Encourage student-athletes wanting to study and compete at an NCAA school to register with the Eligibility Center at eligibilitycenter.org. Students should plan to register before their freshman year of high school (or year nine of secondary school) with a free Profile Page account. Profile Page account registrants get an NCAA ID and important reminders from the Eligibility Center as they progress through high school. These accounts can be transitioned to a paid certification account at any time.
Any student planning to compete in NCAA Division I or II sports must create a certification account before going on official visits, signing a National Letter of Intent or receiving an athletics scholarship. |
2. Update Core-Course List.Update your school's core-course list by visiting the High School Portal. If you believe your school's list is accurate, please log in to verify you have no updates. This will refresh your account and let our team know your core-course list is current and correct.
3. Upload Sixth Semester Transcripts.
Visit the High School Portal to upload sixth semester transcripts for your incoming senior student-athletes. If you have never uploaded a student-athlete's transcript, click here to learn how. If you have a student-athlete with transcripts from multiple semesters needing uploaded, please do so at your earliest opportunity so that the Eligibility Center may complete preliminary reviews. |

Nontraditional Coursework
Required Review Returns September 1Due to COVID-19, the NCAA Eligibility Center has not required a separate review for distance, e-learning or hybrid programs offered by schools with NCAA-approved core courses in spring/summer 2020 through the 2022-23 academic year. Please note this exclusion ends effective September 1, 2023. |
If your school plans to offer core courses that will be completed on or after September 1, 2023, through a distance, e-learning or hybrid program not reviewed by the Eligibility Center during COVID, these courses must now be reviewed. Please contact the Eligibility Center’s high school support line at 877-622-2321 Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern time to begin the review. |

Scholastic Team AffiliationsIf your high school has a formal affiliation with an athletic team other than your high school’s athletic teams, log in to the High School Portal, click on the High School Info tab and submit your high school’s formal affiliation with the athletic team. After submitting the form and upon review by the Eligibility Center, the team name will be identified in your high school's Eligibility Center account. This helps NCAA member schools determine when a coaching staff member may evaluate scholastic teams. Click here to learn more. |

Heat and HydrationAdequate hydration before, during and after physical activity is critical to the safe and healthy participation of your students. Intense exercise, hot and humid weather and dehydration can compromise a student-athlete’s performance and increase the risk of exertional heat injury. Click here for resources on how your student-athletes can assess their hydration status and maximize performance. |
