Post-Eligibility Insurance Program

The NCAA sponsors the Post-Eligibility Insurance Program to support student-athletes beyond their college athletics participation. The program covers medical expenses for eligible athletically related injuries sustained during participation in an NCAA qualifying intercollegiate sport.

Coverage Highlights:

  • Can file a claim for up to two years, or 104 weeks, after a student-athlete separates from school or voluntarily withdraws from athletics; and there is two years of consecutive coverage once a claim is accepted.

  • Sponsored 100% by the NCAA.

  • $0 deductible.

  • Benefits are coordinated with current insurance programs.

  • Injuries must be documented and on file at the school to be eligible for coverage.

When in doubt, file a claim and the claims team at A-G Specialty Insurance will be in touch.
