NCAA Convention, Jan. 14-17. Click here for the Division III convention resource webpage.
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Jan. 13-14 Mental health proposal. SAAC will review a proposed mental health proposal and provide feedback to Management Council.
Legislative proposals. SAAC will finalize its position papers for the division’s legislative proposals.
Sports betting. The committee will continue its discussion of sports betting and provide feedback to the councils during a joint breakfast. Event planning. SAAC will discuss its final preparations for the Division III Special Olympics event, Wed., Jan. 15, 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Ryman Exhibit Hall B3, a student social mixer on Wed., Jan. 15, 8:30 to 10 p.m. in in Canal CD, and a student luncheon on Thurs., Jan. 16, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Bayou CD.
Management Council, Jan. 14 Administrative Committee. The council will consider a noncontroversial proposal to align current legislation and historical practice to fill the composition of the Administrative Committee.
Mental health proposal. The council will review SPFC’s feedback on a proposed mental health partnership and consider a recommendation to Presidents Council.
Coaches Connect Program proposal. The council will review and provide feedback on a proposal to create a coaches connect program in Division III. The program’s goal is to enhance communication to improve coaches’ engagement and education.
Nominating Committee. The council will consider recommendations for the Financial Aid, Nominating and SAAC committees. It also will consider nominations to fill two immediate vacancies on the Management Council.
Legislative referral. The council will review a Presidents Council referral of a 2025 proposal regarding graduate eligibility.
Sports betting. The council will receive an update regarding the most recent sports wagering survey and discuss with SAAC and the Presidents Council during a joint breakfast.
Presidents Council, Jan. 15 Administrative Committee. Similar to the Management Council, it will consider a noncontroversial proposal to fill the composition of the Administrative Committee.
Mental health proposal. The council will review feedback from several governance committees regarding a proposed mental health partnership.
SAAC representatives. The council will vote on two new SAAC representatives joining the council with the conclusion of the 2025 NCAA Convention.
Announcements.
Division III Diversity Grants. The NCAA Division III diversity grants provide funding to institutions and conference offices committed to enhancing ethnic/racial minority and gender representation in athletics administration and assistant coaching positions. The Division III diversity grant application proposals are due by January 27, 2025, at 5 p.m. Eastern. You can find the application on the NCAA Program Hub.
